Working at our Central District location, Katie Shell graduated from Everest College in Burr Ridge, IL in 2007. She specializes in changing structural limitations into functional movement. She has spent 1,000's of hours working with those healing form car accident injuries, on the job injuries, sports injuries, post surgery recovery, chronic´ pain, fibromyalgia, depression, and anxiety/stress.
Her well seasoned techniques include:Swedish massage for relaxation, a practical approach to Deep Tissue & Trigger Point Therapy for effective relief from chronic & acute pain, Chinese Cupping Therapy to break down scar tissue and release the tightest of muscles,
and Active Isolated Stretching; performed in-session and taught for @ home self care.
Katie is an active conservationist. She is a CCC Alumni, having completed backcountry-hiking-trail construction and restoration for the California Conservation Corps. She practiced bioregionalism and organic/sustainable farming in Hawaii.
Katie is a current Voting Member of Northwest Wilderness Programs, participating in future planning & volunteer projects for a Wilderness Conservation in the Cascades.
She believes Bodywork is a perfect balance of science and humanity.
